This Ministry provides an opportunity for seniors to fellowship, be spiritually enriched, be able to serve, take advantage of social opportunities and discover new ways to cope with the challenges of daily life.

Opportunities to become involved:

Prime Time Luncheons: a meal provided on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Aslo it is an opportunity to lead or assist with short term bible study.

Heart to Heart: Opportunity to connect with members who are shut-in or homebound, or in retirement, assisted living or nursing homes. Level 1: monthly phone/card contact.  Level II visitation. Support and training arranged by Senior Adult Ministries.

Seniors on the Go: Collobrates with several agencies, organizations and businesses to identify events that will be of interest to the active senior.  Every effort is made to research events and schedule those appropriate for our seniors. This could also involve Field Trips – Outings to places like Meijer Gardens, Dogwood Center etc. Check our calendar for a listing of upcoming events.  Whether you join us for one outing or several, we know you will have a wonderful experience.

What's New This Month

 SAM (Senior Adult Ministry) is sponsoring a class "Dealing with the Adversary" (Devil). The class will be taught by Lorry Huested at River Valley Community Church Thursday March 8, 15, 22, 29 at 10 am.  Each session will be 90 minutes in length.

 The basis for the class is 2 Corinthians 2:11 "Least Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices" Other versions say for "we are not ignorant of his scheming, his disguises, his wiles, and intentions"...This should be motivation enough in itself to take this class ...But there are two other scriptures for your motivation to take this class.  John 10:10 “The Thief (devil) does not come except to steal... and to kill .. and to destroy” and 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober be vigilant because your adversary the devil, walks about like a roaming lion seeking whom he may devour;

The class objective based on these 3 scriptures is

1.       To become informed of his devices, disguises, and wiles.

2.       How to prevent the devil from stealing, killing, or destroying us.

3.       How to prevent being devoured by the devil.
